Work in one direction and label every uncertainty.

Record width, height, trim and distance from the nearest corner. Mark swing direction and window-sill height.
Fixed services
Locate visible plumbing, drains, power, gas, ventilation, panels and equipment that another trade would need to verify.
Photos & context
Take one photo facing every wall, plus close-ups of obstructions, service points and adjoining-room sightlines.
Safety / Visible reference points only
Do not remove covers, disconnect equipment or enter unsafe areas.
Label uncertain conditions for professional verification. Final work must be checked against the site, appliance information and responsible trades.
