What to Inspect During a Cabinet Installation Walkthrough

Compare the visible arrangement

Review the cabinet locations, fronts, handles, exposed panels and agreed interior features against the current drawings. Look at the room from normal approach points and at closer details. Note any visible damage or item that appears different from the approved specification. Identify the exact cabinet and photograph the concern rather than relying on a broad statement that a wall looks wrong. Separate an incomplete task from a newly requested design change.

Check ordinary operation

With the team present, open the relevant doors and drawers and ask about anything that catches, appears misaligned or is difficult to reach. Review access around installed equipment according to the responsible professionals' instructions. Do not force a mechanism or attempt a technical adjustment during the inspection. Ask where care information and hardware references are stored. An operational question is easier to resolve when the team can see the actual condition and identify the selected product.

Agree the remaining actions

Create one list of outstanding items, with a responsible party and a proposed next step for each. Keep it in the project record alongside photographs and relevant documents. Confirm how completion of each item will be communicated. Ask for the written service and warranty information and the correct contact for later concerns. A useful walkthrough produces an accurate record of the installed work and remaining tasks; it should not be treated as an automatic waiver or a substitute for the project's agreed acceptance terms.
